Hi there all,
It’s now late November 2022 the weather is shite but the B&B and conferences are going great. I have been coaching up at Awhitu Golf Club each week for the past 5 weeks what a beautiful place it is up there and so laid back it is truly worth a visit. Go for a walk through the Regional Park its so nice you can have a swim at high tide. Also I have been coaching the Clarks Beach Golf Club juniors. They come to me. So cute from 5-12 years.
My son Mark has taken over all of the Greenkeeping now and our friend and staff member Russell who have been mowing for the last 5 years has sadly got cancer and has had to leave. Good news is that Mark and his girlfriend Kat have a dear little baby girl called Flo who is now 8 months old and live with me here at the Retreat. Butch and Sha who came to stay for 6 months and ended up with us for 7 years have now gone to live in Hamilton. You might have seen their lovely caravan down by the Greenkeepers shed. They were so much fun to have here and extremely helpful.
Yolla is doing a great job in the kitchen with all the functions and keeping the clubhouse running well.
In February I am starting up the Golf Tours again and am taking 20 ladies to Blenheim, Picton, Kaikoura, Hanmer Springs & Christchurch. We have a coach driver so I can relax this time!
In July I started Newbies Golf Club for Lady Beginners. We have had so much fun. We started with 8 and last month we had 40. It is the first Sunday of the month at 2pm just turn up. Only $25 for coaching tips, 6 holes ambrose and afternoon tea. Very friendly no skills necessary and equipment supplied.
